The OPM BIG Chapter was invited to the Library of Congress (LOC) by the LOC BIG Chapter under the leadership of President Darlene Flowers to do a seminar on Job Preparedness with a focus on understanding KSA’s and Resumes. The workshop was well attended with over 60 people participating.
The workshop presenters were OPM’s Marcia Staten who did an outstanding job on informing the participants on the utilization of USAJobs, understanding the critical elements of KSA’s and the fundamentals of resume writing. Also representing OPM were Anita Roberson whose presentation was on job trends and growth within the federal government, Aurelia Bewaji focused on fundamental differences between preparing a resume for private industry and the federal government, and Dierdre Williams (Department of Treaury) whose focused on the importance of the proper classification of jobs and keeping the classification current.
The event was extremely well organized and very successful. There has been demands to make it a 4 hour workshop.
